So we have had some unseasonably warm weather out our way this fall. A few weeks ago we had one of those surprise gorgeous days. The kids had been wanting to go ice blocking so we jumped in the car and headed over. I thought everyone knew what this was, but apparently it isn't quite as common as I thought. We got some funny looks from people in the park and some questions and even some desires to join in. For those of you who don't know ice blocking involves taking a huge square of ice ( you can buy them or make them in a cardboard box in your freezer), sitting on it on a towel and sliding down a god steep hill. It is a blast, but moms be prepared for grass stains. We put our kids in old clothes.
Brooklyn only wanted to watch at first.
Tanner jumped right in...
So then Brooklyn of course wanted to follow suit.
Ready to go...
Whoosh!
Unfortunately, you have to carry them back up. Tim wanted to teach the boys a little responsibility here and make them do it themselves if they rode down. Little Kaden was working so hard...Tim just had to step in and help. I don't know what Kaden thought about the block suddenly getting a little lighter. He must have thought he was sooo strong.
Definitely a tradition in the making!
