Christmas

I love Christmas! I love the smell of cinnamon and cider, the sounds of Christmas music and the ambient light of the tree.  I get so excited picking out gifts for my children while I imagine the looks on their faces when they open them.  I am definitely a "put the tree up the day after Thanksgiving" person and we celebrate all month long.  There is so much fun to be had during the holiday season! My favorite thing about Christmas though is the love and warmth and family.  The acts of kindness and extra hugs between siblings, their happiness about giving a gift to a brother or sister, Christmas devotionals at church, reading Luke 2 as a family and the opportunity to teach again the story of our Saviors birth to my little ones.  Christmas is a time for family and joy! Here are some of our highlights...
It is not Christmas until you have seen Santa!

Brooklyn had her preschool program at school.  She was a snowman.

My cute brother and sister-in-law sent a cookie making kit to my kids for Christmas.  Drew was very creative with the names of each item. I think the favorite were the little green elf boogies.  My kids laughed so hard :)

Our traditional Christmas Eve gift (pajamas this year).
 The anticipation of Christmas morning...
 thanks Santa!

Christmas thank you's are the best!

We hope you all had as wonderful a Christmas as we did!

Happy Birthday Kaden!

Poor Kaden...it is hard having your birthday only a few days before Christmas.  We try to make sure it doesn't get lost in the hustle and bustle, but sometimes mom needs to make a few allowances.  This year Kaden decided he wanted a Cheetah cake.  Wow...really? I exclaimed.  I can try.  After looking online and remembering Tanners recent tiger cake I thought I might make a suggestion.  You know Kaden...(with gusto) it would be neat to do one of those dirt cakes with the gummy worms (not fair-I know)...hold my breath...Yeah mom, he replied, thats a great ideas. Phew! So here was our easy, we are busy with Christmas cake... he loved it and it tested great!

Grandma and Grandpa gifted a much desired cotton candy maker...see the elation.
We got him a little drum set.  He loves it and we are ever more thankful for our basement. :)
A few days before his birthday Kaden's class put on an musical performance at the school. He was so cute and fun to watch.  He got really into all the actions. Great job Kade!

Happy Birthday sweet boy. We love you!

Halloween Fun

We had a very fun and busy Halloween here at the Wachob house this year.  There were many events we were able to participate in...so many I can't include them all.  Here are a few of the highlights.
Halloween at the zoo...

 Halloween at the church....

 Halloween at home...
We had a lot of fun carving pumpkins this year. I love to see my kids individual creativity come out.

We had a ghoulish Halloween dinner this year which consisted of our usual mummy dogs and a few new additions like witch fingers, goblin eyes, monster mouths, witch hats and swamp sludge.
With all of our festivities the kids acquired a huge amount of candy.  I did not want it in my house for them or me. Luckily, after picking a few pieces they were easily persuaded to sell it to the dentist for $1 a pound.  They had a whopping 21 pounds between the 3 of them.  I think everyone was happy with the decision to sell...especially after Kaden was able to buy himself a pair of rockin angry birds fleece pants!
Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween too!

Birthday Party

Tanner was very excited to have a party with his friends this year.  It was archery themed and I think all of the kids loved it.
We had a target cake...
...and a make your own pizza bar.
Each of the boys received a bow and arrow. We had different contests such as who could shoot the highest, the farthest, the most accurate, through the hoop the most and more.

We even had some ninjas crash the party that they had to take out!
At the end of the party the boys all went home with their bow and arrows, medals and prizes.  It was a great night and loads of fun!
Happy Birthday Tanner!
